Sacramento Heron and Egret Rescue’s volunteers rescue hundreds of animals every year.
Our trained volunteers rescue injured, sick and orphaned wildlife in the field and transport them to a wildlife rehabilitation facility where they receive treatament, are given time to mature and strengthen, and are ultimately released into a more natural environment. Our #1 need: Volunteers to help on our emergency response baby bird rescue team (active during nesting season, May-August of each year). Training and basic supplies are provided.
Not comfortable doing actual rescues? We also need transporters for already rescued wildlife.
